AFC Bournemouth Ticketing Policy

How do AFC Bournemouth sell tickets?

Cherries Points

All general admission match tickets are made available for sale via a points scheme called Cherries Points.

A supporters’ Cherries Points total includes points accumulated during the current season and the previous season; any points accumulated prior to the previous season will not be valid.

Supporters can accrue 1 Cherries Point per match ticket purchased to a maximum of one point per game; supporters’ points records are split in to home league points, away league points and cup points. The Cherries Points scheme is in place to ensure that supporters who have regularly attended fixtures during the points window are able to continue to do so.

Points can be checked at any time via the “My Account” section of a supporter’s online account; for guidance on how to create an online account, please see our “How to Guides” on the ticketing website (tickets.afcb.co.uk).

Points are not usually awarded for friendly or other fixtures (non-Premier League, FA Cup or League Cup) however this may vary at the Club’s discretion.

All points are added to supporter accounts after match tickets have been purchased. If tickets are refunded the corresponding Cherries Point will be removed from the supporter account.

Match tickets purchased via the Cherries Points scheme must be used only by the points holder who is named on the ticket; if you purchase a match ticket and are subsequently unable to attend, please see our refund policy in the relevant sections below.

Season ticket holders will accrue home league points for matches included in their season ticket however these are only activated in the event of a season ticket being refunded or not being renewed. Season Ticket Holders accrue away league and cup Cherries Points in the same way as other supporters and these are active from the time the match tickets are purchased.

AFC Bournemouth do not recommend purchasing tickets via a non-official channel ; match tickets not purchased from AFC Bournemouth will not count towards your Cherries Points total.

The Club’s official channels are via tickets.afcb.co.uk or via the Twickets website (the AFC Bournemouth official ticket re-sale partner).

Accessible Ticketing

AFC Bournemouth offer wheelchair and ambulant disabled accessible (accessible) tickets and is committed to ensuring that football is accessible to all.

Proof of Eligibility

In order to purchase accessible tickets supporters must provide proof of eligibility to the Club; AFC Bournemouth accepts the following as proof of eligibility:

  • Receipt of the higher or middle rate of Disability Living Allowance (mobility and/or care component).
  • Receipt of standard or enhanced rate of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for mobility, and/or care.
  • Receipt of either Severe Disablement Allowance or Attendance Allowance
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Allowance or War or Service Disablement pension for 80% or more disability
  • Blind or partially sighted registration certificate (BD8 or CV1 certificate) or evidence from an eye specialist, for example an optometrist, that the individual would qualify to be registered as severely sight impaired (blind) or sigh impaired (partially sighted). Further advice can be found on the Royal National Institute of Blind people (RNIB) website.

Please note that receipt of a “Blue Badge” will not be considered as eligibility for booking tickets.

This list is not exhaustive and consideration will be given to any other evidence that can be provided.

Supporters can submit their proof of eligibility in person at the ticket office or via e-mail to disability@afcb.co.uk or tickets@afcb.co.uk

Booking Tickets

Once supporters have eligibility they will be able to purchase accessible match tickets in person, over the phone or online at tickets.afcb.co.uk

Supporters who require a wheelchair space can purchase a space for £5 with a complimentary personal assistant ticket.

Ambulant Disabled supporters should pay the age appropriate rate for their ticket and are entitled to a complimentary personal assistant ticket where the disabled supporter has eligibility.

If you have registered your eligibility with the Club and you are unable to access the accessible price-types (Wheelchair User, Personal Assistant) please contact the ticketing team who will update your account with the most recent accessible key.

Disabled supporters can choose to have a personal assistant account created for them in their name or nominate an account holder as their personal assistant. In instances where an account holder has been nominated as a personal assistant the club reserves the right to remove points from the account holder if the personal assistant system is being abused.

When booking tickets a nominated personal assistant does not require Cherries Points in order to book their ticket as long as they are attending in their capacity as a personal assistant.

If a disabled supporter can not attend games or chooses to stop attending, the personal assistant will retain the points that they have accrued whilst attending as a personal assistant.

If you are issued a personal assistant ticket, your ticket must be scanned for entry at the same time as the ticket for the disabled supporter. The personal assistant ticket is issued to assist the disabled supporter and therefore the personal assistant should be with the disabled supporter on entry to the stadium.

Family Stand

The Family Stand is applicable to Blocks 1, 8 and 9 in the Vitality Main Stand; for families booking in the South Stand, the family stand rules apply to blocks 28 and 29-families are encouraged to sit in these family friendly areas.

Supporters with an adult ticket in the Family Stand must be accompanied by an under-16 in order to purchase tickets in the Family Stand (at a ratio of no more than two adult seats per U-16 seat)

Adult tickets purchased with a child’s ticket qualify for the Family Adult ticket price however any upgrades in the Family Stand will be to full adult price.

Season ticket holders in the Family Stand can upgrade their ticket five times across the season at the discretion of the Club. Where a match is moved to a weekday evening for TV, the Club may, at its discretion, allow an additional upgrade in the family area.

When a Junior Cherry turns 16 and stops qualifying for a child’s ticket in the Family Stand they can remain in the Family Stand if the family group still falls within the ratio of no more than two adults per child. In circumstances where the change in concession takes the ratio outside the family stand criteria, the Club will work with the affected family to move them to another area in the stadium that is acceptable before releasing the family stand seats for sale.

Supporters under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18 years when visiting Vitality Stadium. For away fixtures, supporters under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18; the same rule applies to away coach travel.

A Junior Cherry under-3 does not require a match ticket to enter the ground as long as they do not require their own seat and can sit with a parent or guardian. To make use of this option, supporters must phone the ticket office and inform them that the under-3 will be attending the game in advance of the fixture. Supporters must then collect the pass for their infant from the Ticket Office on the day of the game, with the child in attendance.

It is advised that any supporter bringing an under-3 with them to an AFC Bournemouth fixture sits in the Family Stand and is aware of the risk of a ball entering the stands unexpectedly.

Points for Junior Cherries who are under-3 cannot be applied after the game or retrospectively for games that have passed unless the above process has been followed or at the Club’s discretion.

Anti-Touting and Ticket Misuse

The unauthorised sale of football tickets is a criminal offence under UK law. AFC Bournemouth understands that circumstances can change and leave supporters with unwanted or unneeded tickets and, as a result, the Club is committed to providing a refund to any supporter who returns an unneeded ticket to the ticket office up until half an hour before kick-off.

However if a supporter chooses not to return their ticket to the club and sells their ticket on, the club, if it is aware, may decide to take disciplinary action, at their discretion and considering the circumstances, up to and including criminal proceedings and the suspension of ticketing accounts/stadium bans. This would involve a cancellation of tickets and a suspension of ticketing accounts within the range of two months to a full season.

Repeat offences will incur a longer suspension period up to a lifetime ticketing suspension.

Concession Misuse

Concession tickets are an important tool in making football accessible to everybody and as such the issuing of concessions must be safeguarded. If a supporter is found to have purchased a more affordably priced ticket by misusing the concession system, the Club reserves the right to suspend ticketing accounts, cancel tickets and issue stadium bans where necessary.

This would involve a cancellation of tickets and a suspension of ticketing accounts within the range of two months to a full season.

Repeat offences will incur a longer suspension period up to a lifetime ticketing suspension.
